Our Office History

Main street, c 1910

Mole & Mole began in 1898 when George A. Mole graduated from Harvard and joined Thomas Post in his law firm. Mr. Post and Mr. Mole represented many of the wealthy families that came into the Berkshire during the "Cottage Era." The Berkshire Cottages include some of the oldest and largest estates in the Berkshires. The company serviced all of their legal, real estate, insurance and tax needs.

The firm was eventually taken over by George A. Mole. He later became a judge and his son George E. Mole took over the firm. At this time the legal division of the firm was dropped and in the late 1970's the accounting division was closed.

In the early 1980's the company decide to concentrate solely on real estate. Edward and Diane Darrin bought the company at that time from Diane's mother, Marguerite Mole. In January 2005, the business was turned over to Edward and Diane's daughter, Tiffany and her husband, John M. Morawiec. Tiffany is the Designated Realtor and runs the day to day operations of the business.

As one of the oldest firms in Berkshire County, we recognize how important it is to uphold the highest professional standards in the real estate field.

We are very proud to be one of the Berkshires' oldest family-owned and operated businesses.
